LOVE LESSONS

May, you came like lightning. It was the most miserable awakening ever, since about maybe seven years ago. I didn't remember feeling this miserable. It's like my weight was all place in my heart. No solution. Helpless. The only thing a human can do is cry and then pray. That is all a human can do. I don't know how much I can take but if God gives, that is the amount of misery and sorrow I can take. I am thankful that my loved ones are well protected and guarded. My friends are all okay, well, at least they are well physically to continue in this tough journey of life. As I reflect, I know I'm a person without much love to give. I don't know how to love and care. Let's not even start about talking how to serve the community or finding the calling of your life or fulfilling your dreams or believing in some visions. Just love the people around you, that's already hard enough. Love the unlovable annoying friends that you have. And I have learnt valuable ...

FALLIN IN LOVE IS NOT LOVE

Falling in love is not love itself. Attraction is not love itself. Most of the times, you are just infatuated but it’s not like you want to live with the person forever and ever. Personality can be intriguing. What a person is able to do, can be a strong attraction factor. A person who can sing like an angel, a person who can rock the stage with a guitar, and a person who is creative and artistically inclined, a person who runs his own business, a person who speaks and affirm well, a radical thinker; all these are just of “doing”. To totally miss out “being” as one of the attraction factor is a disaster. A person’s character doesn’t just change overnight. Generosity, humbleness, kindness, emotionally strong, determination, forgiving, understanding, a genuine listener, godly, always strive for improvement, caring, and others which are not related of what a person “do” but what the person is “being”, quite effortlessly. It’s not easy to see that from the surface, but perhaps...

LIVING FULLY LOVING DANGEROUSLY

There is a tag-line I fiercely believe in, "Live Dangerously" and I thought it is kinda heroic in a way. It seems like in this generation, everyone craves to live dangerously, breaking out of the 'typical' in life, forsaking money, abandoning a stable job, pursuing dreams/vision, climbing the highest mountain, fighting for a cause - worth or not worth fighting for. In fact, a friend who knows me well told me that I was living dangerously (or rather recklessly), resulting with all the troubles in my life. Yes, resulting with troubles . But today, I stumble upon a better tag-line. It's actually from a book title -Following Jesus Through the Eye of the Needle: Living Fully, Loving Dangerously. (A book by Kent Annanfe) I think Kent nailed it. Perhaps this is the correct quote. Living fully - Not only living in the now but living in all past, present and future.  Grasping every moment, finding meaning in it. Loving Dangerously - risking y...

IS LOVE REAL?

It takes years of mistakes to learn what is love. Often, incomplete people fall in love because of a deep unknown desire to fill the void in their hearts, not knowing it is not the person who they love, but merely a manifestation of that deep void hole, crying to be filled. " Do you miss him at the most happy and fulfilling times of your life? Just because you miss him when the world is quiet and you feel alone doesn't mean you love him. You will miss anyone when you're lonely . It's when your life is going great and you still feel that ache in your heart because he isn't there to see the genuine smile on your face and happiness in your life." To know if one is ready and complete of loving, is recognizing the moment when do you miss him/her the most. Perhaps not only for boy-girl relationships, but friendships as well . "When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not se...
