LIFESTYLE UPGRADE, NO

Sometimes, by upgrading my life to buying better materials, living in better surroundings or dining in a better restaurant; turns out to be trap. It's hard to downgrade once I have upgraded. A few years ago, a one buck Milo drink was enough, was the best, and was the bomb. Now that I can afford to get myself Starbucks Hot Chocolate, I have developed a need for superior hot chocolate drink. It's not that I am buying the brand, you see. The quality is indeed enhanced. It does taste better. Not that I want to live like that but that is the rule. You pay more and you get better. 

But still, some things are just ridiculous, like COACH bag. It is pure nonsense to spend that much on a bag and that bag can feed thousands. But then again, I think the buyers of COACH probably don't feel like that because it's a common thing for them. Think about it. It's common here to get a drink which cost you Rm8 per cup. My mom and dad will freak out if they know that. The poor kid living on the street will too. 

Like Raine Maida said, the culture shock isn't arriving in Darfur, but upon coming back to America. We will be in shock to see that gluttony is a culture. 
Look at the way we spend. Look at the amount of usage. Look at the stuff we wear. 
We will be in shock.

I have no solution in this issue but to hope for wisdom to spend wisely.

DEATH in DREAM

Dreams to do with Death is very disturbing. I cried in the dream and also 'physically cried' and usually wake up with swollen eyes and a massive headache. Now I am exhausted. Ha! I think so far, (add this one) I have Four death dreams - One, I wasn't really impacted, non-emotional- I didn't cry, I was quite emotionless because I haven't talked or seen that person for many years and she probably spoken only two or three lines to me, so I wasn't that concerned. But I was concerned - as in why in the world I dreamed about her death? Well, the mystery of dreams. The first Death dream - I totally freaked out. I dreamed about a death of my family member- someone I love dearly. I did not see the dying process. WHAT IS A SOUL?

Assuming that the soul is not a thing, science is unlikely to prove its existence anytime soon. Yet the experience inspiring the word is entirely real. We speak of "the life of the mind", consciousness, psyche, the spirit.. "she's a free spirit".. And though people die their essence lives on - in words, deeds, qualities they gave to the people who knew and loved them.. There is something - a "soul-print" that connects us instantly to who and what they were. In terms of the broader context.. We know that life seems infinitely variable, and have begun to understand it in terms of systems, a vast web of inter-connectivity. Life is creative. It solves problems. It adapts. *Something is calling forth a higher degree of order. I believe this something, this larger whole, is the mystery that which we call the soul belongs to. by Francesca
